gender identity crisis.....

I received a voice message from a friend of mine on Monday. He said, "Hey, just calling to check up on you. Didn't know you'd had a sex change. Call me." Completely confused, I called him back.

My dad and I work in the same industry. After 44 years, he's retiring next month. Several state and national publications have done articles on him the past couple of months to announce his retirement. He did a phone interview for one of the major trade publications a few weeks ago and it appears in this week's edition. The article mentioned that he planned to play alot of golf, spend time with his kids and grandkids, and that he had a "daughter" who was CEO of a company here in Nashville.

I called him Monday night and said I didn't know he'd never wanted a son. We had a laugh over it, as have other people here in the state. I'll probably get alot of kidding from others over the next few weeks.

For those still not convinced, allow me a little liberty with a quote from Mark Twain - the reports of my gender conversion have been greatly exaggerated.....

Dear OFIT - i do see that you're wearing a lovely shade of PINK there in that photo with your dad. Maybe there's more to this gaffe than meets the readers eye. Something latent, something deep down, repressed...
Come see me if you need counsel.
